About Us

Electric guitars were introduced into the music scene in the 1930s. They are used in a variety of different music, including jazz, blues, country and rock and roll. They were originally built out of walnut, maple, alder and mahogany. The sound quality of any electric guitar is most affected by the wood used. Its overall construction and the type of strings used also affect sound quality but have a secondary effect. Most are constructed of multiple layers of these woods in a laminated form. For aesthetic reasons the top layer is made out of nice looking piece of woods with often a lacquer finish. To keep prices down and provide the market cheap electric guitars, less quality woods were used later on in the century. There are three types of electric guitars, semi-solid electric guitar, the hollow bodied and the solid bodied. Solid bodied are made for rock, hollow bodied for a jazz and lighter music and semi solid can be used for both as it is a cross between hollow and solid. Electric guitars have built in pickups for maximum quality sound reproduction. They are bent so the guitarist can obtain the exact volume for effect. Many guitars nowadays have 2 or 3 pickup for maximum flexibility. It is common to see a pickup in the bridge area, another at the bottom of the guitar neck and the third in the middle of the two. Three pickups enable the musician to generate a range of different tones. Many say the electric guitar is easier to play than an acoustic guitar because the sound must pass through an amplifier and speaker resulting in a less pure tone. My experience is any guitar is easy to play if you practice enough. I'd recommend buying one with at least two pickups to provide some flexibility. This site contains cheap electric guitars for either the beginner or experience guitar player. The key is not to overpay for your guitar so you don't lose much money on resale. So go ahead and buy that dream electric guitar.
